Unfiltered: Pines to Palms
For a recent date night my hubby and I took a drive down to Palm Desert. There are lots of restaurants to eat at (Yardhouse!) and stores to shop at (Target!) and we love to browse the book store (Barnes & Noble!) for hours.
It's always amazing to me though, that in less than an hour the scenery can change so dramatically. If you don't remember my view check this post here. The temperature rises 20-30 degrees and the shade disappears. The view is wide and amazing as we descend 5000 feet.
Not a pine or cedar in sight.
Cactus and brush abound.
The desert does have its own rare beauty, though I couldn't take the heat well enough to live there. But I sure do love to go for a visit.
